WORD: Isla Vista Arts and Culture, produced by Isla Vista Arts, was recognized with multiple honors at the Associated Collegiate Press conference held this month in San Francisco. Most notably, WORD received fourth place nationally in the Feature Magazine category, reflecting the collaborative efforts of members of the Word course and associated club.
Additional individual distinctions were awarded in Magazine Design. Fourth-year student Anita Flores received fourth place for “Nudibranchs in the Santa Barbara Channel” and eighth place for “Worshipping the Weekend.” Karen Su was also recognized in the same category, earning tenth place for her design for “The Five Percent”.
